Ingredients:

For the Seafood Marinade

  • 1 (15 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce
  • 4 Tbsp. Cajun Spice Blend
  • 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter, melted

For the Surf and Turf Boil

  • 1 lb. Shrimp
  • 1/2 lb. Crab legs, optional
  • 3 Corn on the Cob, cut into 2-3 inch long pieces
  • 2 lbs. Baby Potatoes, cut in quarters
  • 2 lbs. Smoked Sausage , sliced
  • 3 Steaks, cubed or sliced, optional

Instructions:

  • Combine Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce, Cajun spice blend, olive oil, and red wine vinegar together. Remove 1 cup of this seafood marinade and set aside for later.
  • You can easily adjust the heat by adding more or less Cajun spice blend to fit your preference.
  • Add the shrimp, crab legs, sausage, and steak to the remaining seafood marinade and toss lightly to make sure all proteins are evenly coated.
  • You can swap or add proteins like lobster, crawfish, chicken, andouille sausage, or extra shrimp to customize the recipe for your guests and budget.
  • Cover and let the marinated meat rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • While the protein is marinating, add corn and potatoes to a stock pot.
  • Fill a stock pot with water and bring it to a boil on medium-high heat.
  • Add potatoes and corn to the stock pot and let the vegetables boil until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Strain the vegetables and set them aside to cool. Once your protein is fully marinated, you are ready to move on to the next steps.
  • Optional: Heat up your grill and sear the steaks, crab legs, shrimp and sausage for a minute. You will just want to sear them until you see grill marks, do not fully cook the protein yet.
  • Add all the meat and vegetables together in a grill-safe aluminum pan or baking dish. Pour in the remaining 1 cup of marinade and toss to coat both meat and vegetables evenly.
  • Cover the pan with aluminum foil, and place on a grill or oven (heated to 400 F) to cook for 20-30 minutes or until everything is cooked through and the potatoes are fork tender.
