Skillet Barbecued Steak

No grill? No problem! Our Skillet Barbecued Steak is made right on your stove top. Smothered with Dei Fratelli Gluten-Free Tomato Soup, worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard this dinner will have you making steak no matter the weather.

Ingredients

  • 1 (10.75 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Gluten-Free Tomato Soup
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 2 lbs. Round Steak or flank
  • 2 Tbsp. Shortening
  • 1/3 Cup White Onion diced
  • 1 tsp. Garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice fresh
  • 2 tsp. Yellow Mustard
  • Hot Sauce to taste

Instructions

  • Place flour in a bowl.  Dip steak into flour until well coated on all sides.
  • Heat shortening in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat until melted.  Place steak in pan and brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Add onion, celery, and garlic and cook until tender, about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add Dei Fratelli Gluten-Free Tomato Soup and remaining ingredients.  Combine well.
  • Return steak to pan. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, or until steak is cooked to desired tenderness.

Notes

Top with caramelized onion!
