This Cheesy Tortellini and Steak Bake is a hearty pasta casserole with steak, Dei Fratelli Petite Diced Tomatoes, and a homemade creamy cheese sauce. Perfect for an easy comfort food dinner in minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Stew Meat, or sirloin steak cut into cubes
  • Sea Salt, as needed
  • Black Pepper, as needed
  • 1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 2 Cups Colby Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 (20 oz.) package Cheese Tortellini , fresh or refrigerated from Deli
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Petite Diced Tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. Parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375 F.
  • Season stew meat with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet or sauce pan on medium-high heat. Add stew meat into the pan and cook through, about 5 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside on a plate.
  • In the same pan, melt the butter and add in minced garlic. Then, stir in the flour to make a quick roux. Once the flour, butter, and garlic resemble a paste, add the milk to the pan gradually while stirring. Continue stirring as you add in beef broth.
  • Once milk and beef broth have been added, stir in the Colby Jack cheese, or whichever shredded cheese you prefer, paprika, and Dijon mustard.
  • Cook the tortellini according to package directions. Once cooked drain and toss the tortellini with olive oil to prevent the tortellini from sticking together.
  • Add the Dei Fratelli Petite Diced Tomatoes, tortellini, and stew meat to your oven safe pan with the cheese sauce and mix to combine. Alternatively, you can spray a 9x13 casserole pan with nonstick spray and put the tortellini, steak, and cheese sauce in the dish and then mix well.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella and bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
