Spicy Buffalo Chickpea Chili

This completely meatless chili is made with a #10 can of Dei Fratelli Diced Tomatoes, Dei Fratelli Tomato Puree, and buffalo sauce providing just the right amount of spice for this Foodservice recipe. Ingredients:

  • 1 #10 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 #10 can Tomato Puree
  • 4 Cups White Onion, medium diced
  • 2 Cups Carrot, peeled, medium diced
  • 2 Cups Green Bell Pepper, medium diced
  • 1/2 Cup Garlic, minced
  • 1 Cup Chili Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Smoked Paprika
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. Cumin
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cups Buffalo Sauce
  • 1 #10 can Chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 #10 can Black Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 Cup Lime Juice

Instructions:

  • In a large stockpot, sweat onion, carrot, green pepper, and garlic over medium heat until softened, about 10 minutes.
  • Add chili powder, paprika, cumin, and sea salt. Combine well and continue cooking another 3-5 minutes.
  • Add Dei Fratelli Diced Tomatoes, Dei Fratelli Tomato Puree, buffalo sauce, chickpeas, and black beans. Reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes. Finish by stirring in lime juice.

Garnish with dairy-free cheese and sour cream for a hearty plant-based meal!
