Pita Pizza lets you take your favorite pizza with you! Adding Dei Fratelli Pizza Sauce into a pita pocket with mozzarella cheese and green peppers makes this the perfect lunch to crisp up on your pan or in your panini press!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Pizza Sauce
  • 3 Pita Pockets, round, cut in half
  • 3 Cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 Cup Pepperoni Slices, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. Green Bell Pepper, diced

Instructions:

  • Take a pita half and peel open. Pour 1/4 cup of Dei Fratelli Pizza Sauce inside, making sure to coat all around.
  • Top with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 2 Tbsp. pepperoni, and 2 tsp. green pepper. Repeat with each pita half.
  • Place 2 halves into a large skillet or sandwich press.  Cook on medium heat until cheese is melted and pita is a golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side. Repeat two more times with remaining pitas.

Chef's Tip:

This is a very sauce-heavy recipe.  For a cheesier option, cut your sauce quantity in half.
