This southern classic is made with Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce and Seasoned Diced Tomatoes, smoked sausage, corn, pinto beans, and Cajun spice. This one-pot Bold and Spicy Gumbo will warm up your kitchen and your taste buds in under 20 minutes.
- 1 (15 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce
- 1 (14.5 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Seasoned Diced Tomatoes
- 1 lb. Smoked Sausage, sliced
- 1 Cup White Onion, diced
- 2 (14.5 oz.) cans Chicken Broth
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 (15 oz.) can Corn, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz.) can Pinto Beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 Tbsp. Cajun Spice
- 1/2 tsp. File Powder
- Cayenne Pepper, to taste, optional
- 2 Cups White Rice

In a large pot, cook sausage and onions over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until onion is tender and sausages are brown.
Add broth and water and bring to a boil. Add Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce, Dei Fratelli Seasoned Diced Tomatoes, corn, pinto beans, and spices. Combine well. Remove from heat and add rice. Cover and cook until rice is fully cooked, about 5 minutes.
Serve with bread or crackers.
For a plant-based Gumbo, replace chicken broth with some veggie broth and replace sausage with your favorite plant-based substitute!
