We layer our Baked Ziti with all your favorite ingredients!  Dei Fratelli Homestyle Pasta Sauce, 3 different cheeses, and ziti pasta are baked and topped with fresh basil to give your family an authentic dish right in the comfort of your home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (24 oz.) jar Dei Fratelli Homestyle Pasta Sauce
  • 1 (16 oz.) package Ziti Pasta
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 1 White Onion, diced
  • 6 slices Provolone Cheese
  • 6 slices Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sour Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Basil, chopped

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.  Cook ziti according to package instructions until al dente.  Drain and set aside.
  • While ziti is cooking, add beef to a large skillet and cook over medium heat until browned, about 8-10 minutes.  Drain grease.
  • Add onions and continue cooking until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add Dei Fratelli Homestyle Pasta Sauce and mix together.  Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • In a lightly greased baking dish, place half the cooked ziti on the bottom in an even layer.  Top with alternating slices of provolone and mozzarella, 3 slices each. Spread half of the sauce mixture evenly on top of the cheese, followed by an even layer of all the sour cream.  Repeat the layers a second time, starting with the noodles and ending with the sauce.
  • Top with parmesan cheese and half of the basil.  Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and sauce is slightly bubbly.  Garnish with remaining fresh basil.

Chef's Tip:

Allow to rest for at least 5 minutes before cutting and serving.  Add a can of drained Dei Fratelli Diced Tomatoes at step 4 for a nice chunky sauce!
